Full Backyard Renovation
Complete backyard redesign for a Haslett lake-area property — patio, plantings, drainage, and lighting in one phase.
About this project
This Haslett property had everything: bad drainage, an unusable patio, dated plantings, and no real connection between the house and the yard. The clients had lived with it for eight years and were ready to do it all at once.
We designed a full backyard plan: new paver patio with seat walls and integrated fire pit, regraded drainage to handle the high water table, four-season planting beds, and a low-voltage lighting system. Built in a single phase over six weeks.
Materials used
- Belgard Lafitt paver patio
- Natural fieldstone seat walls
- Gas fire pit
- Mix of native and adaptive plantings
Challenges solved
- High water table required additional drainage planning
- Coordinating around mature lakeside trees
- Tight access required carrying materials by hand for parts of the build
